Thank you to attendees and sponsors from February 7th

Thank you so much for attending the February Essentials Scrappin’ Event, and for your donation . To date we have earned over $300 in money and goods for the Personal Essentials Pantry. $100 can buy:

  • 125 bottles of shampoo or conditioner
  • 65 sticks of deoderant
  • 50 hairbrushes
  • 200 combs
  • 35 bottles of laundry soap
  • 125 bottles of dish soap
  • 2 cases of diapers or pull-ups

We would also like to thank the people and businesses that donated goods and services to help make the event a success. Please keep these businesses in mind in your daily lives when you are making a choice of what businesses to patronize.

Essentials Scrapping- Next Event April 18th

THE EVENT: Is a fundraiser for the Zion Personal Essentials Pantry (P.E.P.). It is a workshop to do your scrap booking (or stamping!) projects in a fun environment, with the chance to win prizes!
THE PANTRY: What is the Personal Essentials Pantry? In a nutshell, it is a pantry to serve the needs of families in regard to personal hygiene items, etc. Necessities not normally covered in a food pantry. Please see attached article for a more detailed description.
THE LOCATION: Zion Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall, 2165 Linden Avenue, Madison, WI 53704.
THE DATE: The date is Saturday April 18, 2009 from 8:00am till you drop.
PARTICIPATION: There is enough room for 40 participants. There will be 2 people to a table.
THE COST: Is $15.00 per person. If you really want to stretch out, you can double your donation and secure a 6' table for yourself.
FOOD & BEVERAGES: Please feel free to bring your own snacks, beverages, etc. The Fellowship Hall has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink.
Right now we have Noodles and Company confirmed to provide a meal, we are still working on two more.
VENDORS: We will have vendors from Creative Memories, Stampin’ Up, etc. in case you need any supplies, or have questions on techniques.
MISCELLANEOUS INFO: Parking is limited; please carpool if you are able. There is a ramp leading up to the front doors of the church, and an elevator leading to the Fellowship Hall, so bringing in your supplies/tools will be easy. The hall is large, so if you have tools that need plugging in, we suggest you bring extension cords.
MOTIVATION: Our idea started by a conversation that a group of our friends had. We wanted to get together regularly to scrap, but wanted it to be a way to give back to the community...and so Essential Scrappin' was created. We hope it is a great success, please join us!
